| Murray W. Hitzman Position: Director Dr. Hitzman, one of North America's most eminent geologists, joined Mansfield in April 1996 as a director and technical advisor. Dr. Hitzman is the Head of Geology and Geological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Hitzman was an American Associate for the Advancement of Science/Sloan Fellow with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in Washington, D.C. As an exploration geologist with Chevron Minerals Ltd. for 10 years, Dr. Hitzman played a leading role in the discovery of the Lisheen zinc-lead-silver deposit in Ireland. He was awarded the Chevron Corporation Chairman's Award for his contribution in the discovery. Dr. Hitzman has a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Dartmouth College, a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Dartmouth College, a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in Geology from Stanford University, California. | |
